Imran Akuji ganhou a sua segunda corrida da época ganhando a Volta a Goba

Foi um dia de muito vento. O pelotão partiu com um rítmo razoavel nos primeiros 10kms. Abilio Matusse tentou a primeira fuga que resulto em perseguição por Ricardo Trindade atingindo medias em excesso de 52km/hr. Apos 5kms Matusse foi apanhado graças ao trabalho do Trindade.

15kms depois João Rodrigues atacou numa subida antes de Goba sem nenhuma resposta. O grupo juntou-se para perseguir Rodrigues. Manuel Malaia não aguentou com o ritmo e acabou por descolar. Minutos depois Trindade descolou e desistiu da prova deixando Akuji e Matusse em perseguição do Rodrigues.

30kms depois Rodrigues foi apanhado perto da Meta Volante onde Akuji ganhou o bonus frente a Matusse e Rodrigues respectivamente. Na subida da pedreira Akuji manteu um ritmo alto descolando Matusse no inico e quase chegando ao topo Rodrigues tambem ficou deixando Akuji a rolar sozinho nos ultimos 10kms até a meta em primeiro lugar seguido por Rodrigues, Matusse, Malaia, Angelo e Simoes respectivamente.

Matuse lidera o copa seguido por Akuji, João António, João Rodrigues e Mauel Malaia no top 5.

A proxima prova sera de Contra Relógio Individual de 26.2km no dia 1 de Novembro.

Imran Akuji won his second race of the season by winning the Tour of Goba

It was a windy day with a tail wind going out and a head wind on the way back. the peloton rode at a normal pace for the first 10kms before Abilio Matusse attempted a break. Ricardo Trindade took to the front and set a strong pace chaing down Matusse at speeds of 52km/hr. 5kms later Matusse was brought back to the group.

Joao Rodrigues attacked 15kms later on a slight incline with no able to follow him. The group got together and set a plan to chase down Rodrigues. Manuel Malaia could not hang on to the pace on the climbs and dropped off. Minutes later Trindade also dropped and quit the race leaving Matusse and Akuji to chase down Rodrigues.

30kms later Rodrigues was reeled in. At the sprint Akuji took the points from Matusse and Rodrigues respectively. On the pedreira climb Akuji set set a pace that saw Matusse loose wheel right at the begining, and later on, almost at the top, Rodrigues also lost wheel leaving Akuji to ride to the finish in the final 10kms.

Akuji won ahead of Rodrigues, Matusse, Malaia, Angelo and Simoes respectively.
